The following guide is designed to figuring out which board YOU need to have a good time on the water The most common use for SUP Boards are: Allrounder Touring Yoga/Fitness There are countless uses and subcategories such as boards specifically made for surf, whitewater, fishing or extra large boards for a party paddle. Let us know if you are interested and we will provide you with the information! ALLROUNDER The Allrounder is an anytime-any-place inflatable SUP. Take it to the lake for a casual paddle or put it in a river for more of a thrill. It's usually about 10’ in length and between 28" and 32" in width which makes it a great board for people of all skill levels. Allrounder boards have a plaining nose and a slight rocker making them suitable for both flat water and river/ocean current. YOGA/Fitness Bring your Yoga poses onto the water. The extra wide 36" Yoga board gives you that extra stability and balance to take your yoga practice wherever you go. But also beginners find a great choice in this more balanced board. It is the ideal paddle board for all types of yoga or fitness. The additional space also provides room for furry companions! TOURING Touring SUP boards have a hydrodynamic body, with a pointed nose that carves through water quickly and efficiently. The additional length (usually 11'+) makes touring comfortable and easy. This is a board for intermediate to advanced high-speed riders looking to race through flat or choppy waters and go long distances efficiently. Despite the sporty-aspect, it is also great for beginners as the weight is distributed more evenly. PLUS, take your buddy (human or animal) on the board with you! Touring boards are great for fishing, providing enough space for gear and extra weight.

My cousin wants to use a paddleboard. Thanks for explaining the different options. Since she doesn't go out on the water often, maybe it would be best for her to rent paddleboards whenever she goes.

Rent is a great way to start so you can try different boards and see what you like. We are having our end of season sale soon too which is a good way to buy a first board!
